In my opinion, this game does not have the same art style-it is not pixel art-so I can't say I agree with you on that one.Īnd sure, it could turn out that way, could go the complete opposite of that-only time will tell.

I am not claiming that Warfare is totally unique to all WW2 games in general, but in the current lineup of multiplayer FPS WW2 games, I am not familiar with anything that has the same or similar of an art style (maybe I am just being forgetful, but I cannot recall there being one with this art style within this subgenre of WW2 games for the last few years at least-please correct me with a title of one if I am wrong). Originally posted by Goomes:Your question was in relation to the current WW2 shooters on the market "like Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose", so I was answering within that context (i.e. If you will made it with 2D sprites and gameplay like in arma / ps / hll it will be realy great but this your art style we seen many many times before Īnd many many many thanks for your answe there as we are able to have a little more flexibility with how things are stylized. This also allows for us to get more creative with the rest of the artwork, themes, etc. The idea for this was to simply be unique-almost all WW2 shooters that have come out recently are all going for the more realistic visual approach, so the decision was to just do something different. Warfare uses a pixel art style that is handmade for everything in the game, it is not trying to look realistic. Originally posted by Goomes:The first thing I think most people will recognize is the difference in art style. There are already developers working on WW2 and Vietnam versions of O:HD. OHDCore is the foundation upon which Warfare and Operation: Harsh Doorstop are being made-they share the same framework and systems, but serve two completely different objectives: demonstrating the flexibility of OHDCore as a framework, and then Warfare is meant to be a more casual title, while O:HD is going to be more hardcore and feature much higher levels of realism and attention to detail. If you visit the Trello board (), you can also see what is done and/or WIP with Warfare and OHDCore (including but not limited to building destruction, airplanes, boats, and more). Warfare will also still be a more "gritty" game (don't let the textures fool you, this is not a cartoony kids game).

With that being said, there are a lot of influences from games like Project Reality as well, so teamwork, communication, tactics, etc. The objective is to revive many elements of older games that we feel we miss in modern shooters. as we are able to have a little more flexibility with how things are stylized.Īs far as what gameplay will be like, Warfare is attempting to be closer to the classic Battlefield 1942 experience, which is a more casual experience than HLL or PS are, and it is not necessarily trying to deliver the same experiences you would get out of those games.
